How does Auto Pay Work?

Your Direct Energy energy bill will be deducted electronically from your credit card or bank account each month with this free service. Plus, you may be eligible for additional perks if you use your credit card.*
You'll also save on postage and cheque-writing costs, and your payments will always be on time, even when you're away from home.
*Credit card bonus offers will depend on the terms and conditions of the credit card company.

How do I sign up for Auto Pay?
  1. Print the application form
  2. Read the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Complete and sign the form.
  4. Send the form and a blank personalized cheque to us using one of these methods:
When is the payment withdrawn from my account?


Note: To avoid a charge for insufficient funds (NSF), sufficient funds or bank approved overdraft protection must be available when payment is due.

What if my bank account changes?

Simply advise us in writing and include your new personalized cheque marked VOID. We'll do the rest.

Just switched to Direct Energy as your energy provider?

Please note that you will receive your first bill approximately 30 days after we receive the necessary account information from your local utility. We will send out your bill once per month. If you have not received a recent bill from us, please call us at 1-866-374-6299 for assistance.


If you are unable to pay the complete amount of your current bill, you may qualify to pay in installments on an overdue balance until payment is complete.
